Working with students' integrity to open possibilities towards a new learning experience where they find themselves becoming the main character of their story.
Students will discover and develop their own talents while expressing themselves through drama and musical theater techniques. This can be achieved by them focusing in the activities creating a relaxed and fun environment at the same time.
MUSICAL THEATER:
Musical Theater is the art of telling a story through music on stage. It combines dancing, singing and acting. These areas are not represented separately. They are integrated by the actor/actress through his character. The character starts singing because words are not enough, he stats dancing because movement expresses his feelings more accurately.
The objective in the musical theater class is for students to integrate dancing, singing and acting into a character that tells the story.
Technique: THE METHOD, Actor´s Studio de New York
MUSIC: Students can develop their own musical talents and skills to their maximum possibilities in that period of time.
1) Working with SILENCE: Becoming aware of silence. Its importance and its role in music. Silence is the absence of sound. Sound and silence, in a good combination, is music.
2) Learn how to LISTEN: Listening to music is the way of singing in tune. It improves the sense of rhythm for dancing and singing as well. It also gives us better discernment when choosing a musical piece. In other words, it broadens our musical culture.
3) Work with diction, spoken word, phonetics, projection, and pitch and expression. Students learn how to build their own images to create the character that is singing the song. Singing can be in Choir or solos.
DRAMA: THE METHOD is a very simple and efficient technique. THE METHOD teaches that when performing the actor IS the character and not simple ACTS AS the character. Following this criteria the student creates its own character with the teacher´s guide.
DANCE: Movement and dancing go along with the character´s actions and expressions. In this way they come to life on stage.

Proyecto Teatro-Comedia Musical

Duración: un cuatrimestre
Objetivo: que los alumnos conozcan y desarrollen sus propias herramientas de expresión teatral y musical en un ambiente de trabajo de concentración, distensión y diversión.
TEATRO MUSICAL-Integración: Refiriéndonos a la Comedia Musical hablamos de la integración de las áreas. La danza, el canto y la actuación forman una integración en el actor, no se manifiestan separadamente sino que son un todo en el personaje. Ya que la comedia musical ES contar una historia a través de la música. Este es el objetivo principal del taller, la integración de las áreas, y trabajar con el alumno en su integridad para que se abra hacia una nueva experiencia de aprendizaje donde él es el principal protagonista
Técnica: EL METODO utilizado en el Actor´s Studio de New York
MUSICA: que cada alumno desarrolle su capacidad musical individual al máximo:
1) Silencio: pudiendo trabajar el silencio como primer paso para la atención.
2) Luego aprender a" ESCUCHAR" la música es la puerta para un cantante afinado, mejora el manejo del ritmo para la danza y el canto. Aumenta la capacidad de elección musical, es decir mejora la cultura musical.
3) El próximo paso fundamental es trabajar la dicción, hablada y cantada, la proyección, la afinación y sobretodo la expresión. Se enseña a construir imágenes para la creación del personaje que canta dicha canción. El canto es en coro o solo.
ACTUACION El METODO es una técnica ideal ya que es simple, y muy eficaz. Sostiene que en la actuación debemos SER el personaje y no ACTUAR del personaje. De esta manera el alumno, con la guía del profesor, es el creador de los personajes.
DANZA- Movimiento: en el curso se incorporan algunas coreografías o movimientos que acompañan las expresiones de los actores. Así, los personajes cobran vida en el espacio.
